  • General Discussion, the following items where brought up and discussed.
  1. Problem with spiders on docks was brought by Terry Wilson. Shelia Benson stated that the owner of the Pest Control Company had been out and looked at the docks. He stated that the nat's where really bad this year, which made the spiders worse than normal. The question was asked if we could spray more often than once a monthy in the summer. The owner suggested that the roofs of the docks should be power washed in the spring. Shelia asked if everyone had read the letter that AB Pest Control had sent out and is posted on the Port Royale Web site. The board will look into what needs to be done.
  2. Power Washing the buildings, the board stated that money has been budgeted in 2008 to power wash the buildings in the spring after the pollen is done.
  3. Bill Hopes asked about getting a wireless internet for the complex. It was stated that some people have it today because they are able to sign on to their sytems. The question was asked about how many people have internet at the lake today. Several people have signed up with Charter for internet service. Terry Heig was asked to do a survey of home owners who are interested in having internet service. Several ideas where discussed including going to Charter and getting a reduced rate for internet services for everyone. Don Stites agreed to check on prices once we complete the survey and see how much interest their is.
  4. Question was asked about redoing  the asphalt sealing on the hill. Shelia stated the company is suppose to come back and reseal the hill, adding sand to the mixture.
  5. Jack Brown asked about painting the posts on the decks. Terry Heig said that he was trying to get bids for painting all the wood on the parking side of the buildings, but was having problems getting people out to do the bids. We have not been able to find anyone to paint the lake side. No way to get equipment down, and most people think it is to high. The board will continuee to look at alternatives.
  6. Larry Benson stated that he had found 4 or 5 quarts of oil in the dumpster. Oil should not be placed in the dumpsters. Used oil can be taken to O'Riellys and recycled. Also old batteries should not be placed in the dumpsters.
  7. Larry Benson asked if anyone knew who the PWC trailer on top of the hill belongs to. Trailers are not suppose to be parked on top of the hill. It was stated that the builder will dispose of it when he starts construction on top of the hill.
  8. Question was asked about the status of building on top of the hill. Harrison still plans on building and hopes to start in the next couple months.
  9. Question was asked about the upgrade of the septic. Harrison has applied and received a permit from the DNR to upgrade the septic sytem. The DNR has given Harrison untill January 2008 to complete the upgrade. The board has talked to our attorney, our attorney recommends that we wait and see what has been completed in January 2008. If nothing is done our attorney will work with the DNR to take action against Harrison.

The meeting was adjourned by Joe Krahin at 12:15 P.M.
