8.4.1.Any Unit Owner who obtains individual insurance policies covering any portion of the Property, other than: (a) personal property belonging to such Owner; or (b) the individual Unit of such Owner, shall be required to file a copy of such individual policy or policies with the Association within thirty (30) days after purchase of such insurance.
Do you have enough insurance for your condo?
The Port Royale condos are over 5 years old and we have had several claims for water damage. We have had repairs for less than $100 and claims for as much as $3,337.88, $22,803.56 and one for $80,000.00 plus. These claims are for mitigation, demo, mold remediation, and reconstruction. One of these claims was covered by the associations insurance, because it was a common wall problem. The other claims were problem that the home owners are responsible for. These estimates do not include claims for personal property. All homeowner should have enough insurance to cover studs in including all your upgrades. Our Insurance Agents recommends that you have a minimum of $60,000.00 to $75,000.00 in Real Property Insurance coverage, plus make sure you have enough insurance to cover your Personnel Contents of your condo. Please check with you Insurance Agent and make sure you have enough insurance.
